Seeding at the Pro GRT in Windrock Tennessee ended incomplete. The day started off a little slippery after a light late night rain, but the moisture dried up and the course dried out producing excellent riding conditions. World Cup teams like Santa Cruz Syndicate and Madison Saracen Racing are in attendance along with plenty of local talent for a solid early-season race in the U.S.
The Elite Men’s class, the last to run for the day, had their session cut short after a rider was injured on course, going over the bars off the step-up near the finish area. At the time of writing, we couldn’t confirm who the injured rider was, so please leave info in the comments if you know the details. We wish the rider all the best. 36 riders received seeding times before lack of light made it unsafe to race. We were told there were approximately 40 riders at the top who did not get seeding runs.
Danny Hart took the fastest time of the day with a 2:27.676, followed by Luca Shaw and Loris Vergier. Danny looked fast and focused on course all day long, so his results wasn’t a surprise. On race day, competitors that did not receive seeding times will drop-in before those with seeding times based on a pre-determined order.
Josefine Bjorkman went fastest in the Elite Women’s class with Caroline Washam just over second behind.
Zach Gareis went quickest in the sizeable Jr. Expert field. Rain is predicted for race day, but the forecast has been changing regularly. If rain does come, the course will be extremely slippery with the clay-based soil here.
