While many light companies talk about lumens and run times, Swedish company Bookman likes to focus on aesthetics and ease of use. For spring 2016, the Stockholm-based outfit is selling its Bookman Light set (£16 / $23 / €23) in ‘Sunset Pink’ and ‘Sea Green’, both with a yellow elastic band.

“The new colors are all about the concept of summer: sunny days by the sea, cruising bike rides, melting ice creams, laughter and sweet summer tunes,” said Mattis Bernstone, Bookman creative director.

The Bookman Light set mounts on a range of handlebars and seatposts with the elastic strap. The front is white and the rear light is red. Bookman says the lights are weather resistant.

The single LED turns on and off with a big button. There are three modes: slow flashing, fast flashing and steady. Each light uses a replaceable CR2032 battery.

Bookman sells online and in retailers in more than 30 countries, from art boutiques like Colette in Paris to museum shops like the Museum of Modern Art in New York City to bike shops like ParkSIDER in Tokyo.
