Hot on the heels of the launch of the Mojo 3, Ibis has updated the longer-travel Mojo HD3 with a 148x12mm rear end that allows riders to run standard width treads as well as 27.5+ tires up to 2.8in wide.
The new carbon swingarm can accommodate 2.8in wide 27.5+ tires
The move to a 148x12mm rear end may be a matter of keeping current with the times, but designing it to also accommodate 27.5+ rubber significantly broadens the scope of this already capable trail bike.
According to Ibis, a nice light set of 2.3in tires will turn the HD3 into a svelte shredder, 2.5in items with good sidewall protection is the ticket for straight-lining through rocky terrain, and 2.8in offerings from Maxxis and Schwalbe will maximize traction.
The ‘boosted’ HD3 is in stock and available for purchase immediately.
