WELL-TIMED
This is a self-timer photo of me, Kolin Goncalves, riding the edge of a cliff above a cedar-encircled volcanic crater (at left of photo) with another crater behind me. Taken in the Middle Atlas mountains of Morocco.

BMX TO MTB
This is Gork Barrette, BMX Hall of Famer. Gork now lives in Phoenix, Arizona, and works for USA BMX, traveling around to most of the national BMX races, as well as the Olympics. This was Gork’s first time riding in Moab, and he is rolling a 29er hardtail. There was a Mile High National BMX race in Grand Junction, and I convinced Gork to bring his MTB along so we could ride in Grand Junction and Moab. We had an amazing time.
We spent four hours getting through the Porcupine Rim trail, heading out from the Kokopelli trailhead.

WE’RE KEEPIN’ IT STEEZY, BRO
Early-morning shred on one of my favorite sections from Party Line (trail) on the North Shore. Who would have known Hawaii has such killer trails. It’s more than just sunscreen and beaches. Stay “steezy,” bros.

LOOKING TO FLY
Overlooking Trailside Mountain Bike Park in Park City. In the distance you can kind of see Canyons Resort. This trail is called “Bamm Bamm.” It was an awesome day.

START ’EM YOUNG
My 8-year-old daughter, Addison, hitting a drop in the new Skill Builder Park at Snow Summit. Huge thanks to Snow Summit for the time and money invested so that I can spend the day passing along my love for the sport to my daughter!

FOGGED IN
An excellent morning ride before the sun could burn off the marine layer at Coyote Lake in Gilroy, California.

RIDING THE SPINE
This is Tyler Hoopes riding down “The Spine” on Wasatch Crest Trail, with Park City on the right and Salt Lake Valley on the left. Riding at 11,000 feet elevation.

“Trail Mix” rider of the month: Paul Basagoitia
After throwing caution to the wind and putting together what almost looked like a winning run at Red Bull Rampage, Paul had a nasty crash that resulted in a shattered T12 vertebra and loss of feeling in his legs. He’s one of the fiercest competitors we know, and if anyone can pull through this, it’s Paul. If you’d like to donate to Paul’s Ride2Recovery fund, head here: www.road2recovery.com.
